Peavey Decade Preamp Pedal

Product information "Peavey Decade Preamp Pedal"

Originally released in the early ’80s, the Peavey Decade amp developed a cult following for its rough, gritty tone, becoming a staple for players seeking unconventional edge and saturation. Now that Peavey has brought the legendary amp back to life, its unmistakable sound returns in compact pedal form — with the Decade Preamp.

As a faithful recreation of the 1980s circuit, the Decade Preamp pedal captures the full character of the amp that started it all. The switchable Saturation mode functions like a second channel and delivers a fat, harmonically rich overdrive at the push of a button. Pre- and post-gain controls, a responsive three-band EQ and a hard-bypass switch with anti-click circuitry ensure clean integration into any signal chain. The pedal is powered by a standard 9-volt supply and can be configured internally to 24 V to provide the headroom and dynamic range that define the original.

The Decade Preamp is part of the Peavey Legacy Preamp Series, which offers miniaturised versions of iconic Peavey amps that have become highly sought after in recent years. While others have tried to capture these sounds, only Peavey can deliver the true original tone. Each pedal is built with premium components in a rugged die-cast enclosure, from quality pots and switches to fibreglass PCBs with 2-ounce copper and plated-through holes. Every control and cosmetic detail reflects the original amps, while the sounds remain faithful to their legendary tone… without the weight of the amplifiers. With adjustable output levels for instrument- and line-level applications, the Decade Preamp is as flexible as it is authentic.

Rooted in history, built for the present, the Decade Preamp carries the same spirit of innovation that defined the original, reborn for a new generation of players.

About Peavey

Peavey Electronics – powerful sound since 1965

Peavey Electronics stands like few other names for uncompromising sound, innovation and reliability in the field of electric guitar amplifiers. Founded in 1965 by the then 23‑year‑old Hartley Peavey in a garage in Meridian, Mississippi, the company developed within a few decades into one of the world's leading manufacturers of musical instruments and audio technology. The vision was clear from the start: to make professional technology accessible and affordable for everyone – without sonic compromise.

Especially in the world of guitar amplifiers Peavey has secured a firm place in music history. With legendary models like the 6505®, originally created in collaboration with Eddie Van Halen as the "5150", or the versatile Classic® 30, Peavey has shaped entire music genres – particularly rock, hard rock and metal. The combination of brutal high‑gain sound, enormous presence and rugged construction makes Peavey amps a preferred choice for both stage and studio.

Alongside iconic tube amplifiers, Peavey also stands for technological innovation. With the company's own TransTube® technology they succeeded in convincingly emulating the dynamics and playing feel of tube amps in the world of solid‑state amplifiers – ideal for anyone seeking maximum reliability with minimal maintenance. Models like the Bandit 112 have therefore enjoyed cult status among beginners and experienced guitarists alike for decades.

Whether you're looking for a versatile combo for rehearsal room and club, a brutal tube head for the big stage or a reliable partner in the studio: Peavey delivers powerful solutions for modern guitar sounds – built with experience, passion and a feel for practical use.
