Because sometimes you just need a little more.
Yamaha followed this approach when developing their successful desktop amp THR10II. In addition to tube amps, full and half stacks, and combo amplifiers — which, of course, deliver a great sound as soon as you crank them up — Yamaha did not want to simply provide a smaller version of the large amplifiers for relaxed practising at home.
A new concept was needed.
With the revised THRII series featuring Virtual-Circuitry-Modeling, Yamaha has succeeded in creating another amp category whose features make it ideal for playing at home and which offers players modern functionality.
Beneath the THR10II’s robust yet elegant cabinet lies 2 x 10 watts of power — enough to flood cosy living rooms and children’s bedrooms with fat electric-guitar sounds via the 2 x 3.15" speakers.
The built-in Extended Stereo technology delivers a room‑filling, wide sound despite the compact cabinet dimensions of just 36.8 x 18.3 x 14.0 cm. To further shape the sound to your liking, you also get a 3-band EQ and a powerful effects processor.
You can also choose different amplifier models via so-called Amp Types, which makes the living-room amp suitable for electric basses and acoustic guitars with built-in pickups.
By the way, you can conveniently control all sound settings from the sofa via smartphone using the THR Remote app. So you don’t necessarily have to stand in front of the amp to switch your sound from Clean to Dirty. To play along with your favourite music and play‑alongs, or to use the THR as a modern music speaker, all THRII models are equipped with Bluetooth technology for audio playback.
The comprehensive feature set is rounded off by a built-in tuner and a headphone output with a handy mute button to silence the built-in speakers and spare the nerves of your flatmates ;-)
