You won't expect a huge variety of sounds from a single channel amp, though the simplicity is the reason why I've bought it. Just power it up, dial your favourite settings and you have a good sound. Shape knob at 9 and you have early sabbath, turn it clockwise and you're getting a modern sound. Sounds good at low volume, fine for a flat. This amp is fine at low gain (almost clean), has a very good crunch and overdrive. However, at hi-gain the amp lacks clarity and tightness, might sound fuzzy and boomy. An overdrive pedal not only helps adding more gain, but most importantly shapes the signal in a more pleasant way. Build quality is solid. Won't drop it intentionally, but it looks and feels reliable. FX Loop - good to have one. Headphone out - it is usable for silent practice. But not good. Satisfied with my purchase. Good for beginners, for practice at home and in the studio.
Der Orange Micro Dark deckt alles ab, von feinem Cleansound bis hin zum bösen Metalsound. Hängt man ihn an die richtige Box ist es überraschend, was für einen feinen Sound das kleine Ding produzieren kann. Hatte ihn zunächst an der von Orange dafür gedachten Box hängen und war sehr enttäuscht über das Ergebnis. Anschließend hatte ich ihn an meiner 1x12 Box und erst da zeigte der Verstärker sein wahres Gesicht. Wer zu Hause leise und und ohne die Nachbarn zu stören proben möchte, der kann auch ruhigen gewissens zur Orange Box greifen. Wer jedoch einen kleinen leichten Amp für die "Hosentasche" sucht, der auch live mithalten kann, der sollte ebenfalls zum Mirco Dark greifen, ihn dann aber mit einer entsprechenden Box ausstatten.
