Many guitarists have been nagging Dave Friedman to come up with a classic plexi amp - and the wait is now over: from the Vintage Collection series comes the PLEX, a plexi style top with the sound of Dave Friedman's reference amp, a '68 JMP Super Lead Plexi Top. The problem with plexi amps is always the absolute turbo volume, which is almost impossible to tame - but as you would expect from Dave Friedman, he has come up with a brilliant solution to this problem. With the Post-Phase Master Volume, the volume can be reduced to a tolerable level without any loss of sound or dynamics. The popular channel jumpering of Vintage Plexis is also possible without any problems, the channels are bridged internally and can be mixed continuously via the lead and normal pots. Each channel has a 3-way bright switch. With the Variac switch, the internal voltage can be switched three ways (low, off, high), which has a massive influence on the power amp saturation - the good old Eddie trick. The amp delivers official Plexi sound - pressure, dynamics and first-class Plexi tone.
