The MXR M-101 Phase 90 Pedal provides classic phasing with variable speed control. Add shimmer to lead passages or jet-plane resonance to muted strumming. Not just for guitars, the MXR Phase 90 works well with bass, keyboards, and vocals. Vary the speed from a subtle, long cycle to a fast, watery warble with endless vintage vibrations in between. MXR, or MXR Innovations, was founded in 1972 by Michael Laiacona, Keith Barr and Tony Sherwood and is based in Rochester, New York. The first MXR effects pedal was the M - 101 MXR Phase 90, which was used extensively on the first two Van Halen albums, for example. Over the years, MXR has produced a variety of different effects - even in 19" format - many of which have become classics, while others have faded into obscurity without a sound. MXR is now owned by Jim Dunlop, under whose direction the MXR classics are being reissued. But there are also new MXR creations, including some "signature" Pedals, which are mostly slightly modified classics.
