During the test phase of the new Thomas Blug signature guitar, Thomas also tested the new Kloppmann Real 65 set in a prototype. Completely delighted with this typical mid-60s sound, the Strat Maestro combined the neck and bridge pickup together with the tried and tested replica of the 1966 mid-pickup (RwrP) from the first Blug Set as a new ST Blug II for its new project. The ST Blug II was once again tested personally and described by Thomas as follows: "My typical Stratocaster Neckpickup sound harmonises perfectly with the beautifully mild Bridge pickup and in the 2 & 4 positions these wonderfully pearly intermediate sounds arise! "
