Henning Vahlbruch has a knack for high-quality, hand-built effect pedals with excellent sound. The Opto Trem is an analog tremolo pedal that plays in the boutique effect premier league. The opto-electrical circuitry is based on a set of hand-selected photocells, which ensure that the Opto Trem's circuitry is very quiet. Two operating modes are available: soft for classic California tube combo tremolo, hard for the typical "helicopter" chop sound of British combos with BIAS tremolo. The range of the volume pot is very wide, so that the pedal can also be used as a booster. Henning Vahlbruch has come up with a special idea for the true bypass circuitry of the current V2 version: switching is done via a wear- and noise-free MagTraB footswitch (for techies: there is a magnet in the button head, the respective position of which is detected by a sensor - depending on the position, the bypass is detected by a microprocessor and switched by a relay).

Etwas teurer als der "Massen-Mitbewerb" dafür wesentlich kultivierter im Klang und in Deutschland entwickelt und gebaut. Nicht mein erstes Vahlbruch-Pedal und vermutlich auch nicht mein letztes ;-)
...klingt sehr natürlich, obwohl man den Buffer-Effekt des Pedals raushört. Dieser lässt sich aber ausschalten, sodass man das Tremolo im True-Bypass Modus nutzen kann. Ein großer Bonus des Geräts ist, dass man dieses auch als Booster bei runtergeregeltem Intensity-Regler nutzen kann.
Klingt gut. Ist solide gebaut. Sehr übersichtlich zu bedienen. Der Fußschalter ist perfekt. Würde ich jederzeit empfehlen.
