Roland FP-E50 Modern Portable Piano
Modern and powerful
The FP-E50 digital piano is packed with Roland's best technology, is portable and therefore a creative hub for learning, composing and performing! 88 weighted keys and the SuperNATURAL piano engine deliver an authentic piano experience. With the pioneering ZEN‑Core sound technology you gain access to orchestral sounds, synthesizers and many other sonic ideas. Use the interactive accompaniments and become the leader of a whole band. The FP-E50 features a microphone input and internal vocal effects to create harmonies in real time, for example. Performances can be recorded directly on the instrument and exported.
Efficient workflow
Fast access to comprehensive functions. In the standard display view the FP-E50 shows the current sound, tempo and other important information. Roland put a lot of emphasis on a tidy user interface in the design, allowing direct access to sounds, favourites, pitch shift and other settings. Some buttons have useful dual functions that can be accessed via a long press. Without diving deep into menus, you can save changes and edit parameters.
Performance without limits
Whether at home or on stage, the FP-E50 combines Roland's modern keyboard and vocal technologies with expressive FP piano sounds!
High-quality piano experience
Roland's SuperNATURAL piano sound engine conveys the lively response and authentic feel of an acoustic grand. With 88 full-size keys, hammer action, escapement and the Ivory Feel touch, this digital piano comes astonishingly close to an acoustic instrument.
The ZEN‑Core universe
The pioneering and expandable ZEN‑Core sound engine is not only used in Roland's professional synthesizers like JUPITER‑X and FANTOM. The FP-E50 also benefits from this sound‑generation technology. The legendary Roland synthesiser sounds, orchestral and brass tones, drums, basses, guitars and world‑music sounds are only a few tweaks away and can be combined and split.
Backing-Band
With the Roland FP-E50 the band is always within reach. The intelligent auto-accompaniment tools help and are great fun. The nearly 200 built-in music styles were created by professional composers. This allows a complete arrangement to be controlled conveniently with the left hand — from single-note parts for beginners to chord-change detection for more advanced players. In interactive mode the dynamics and volume of the backings adapt in real time to a player's individual style. The chord sequencer function helps when improvising and developing melodies over chord‑progression presets.
Vocal effects
With the convenient microphone input you can sing directly while playing and practising. Studio-quality vocal effects are also available for processing. For example, harmonies can be generated in real time or the voice can be further altered using the voice transformer or the vocoder.
New possibilities
With suitable expansions from Roland Cloud, the integrated recording function, the backing band, Bluetooth audio/MIDI and USB connectivity for data transfer, the FP-E50 meets the needs of modern singer-songwriters and is simply a lot of fun.
Endless inspiration
A visit to Roland Cloud lets you download new accompaniments, SDZ Sound Packs and EXZ Wave Expansions from a growing selection of content, thereby expanding the ZEN-Core sound engine on the FP-E50 with legendary Roland tones.
Wireless with Bluetooth
Connect mobile devices via Bluetooth to the FP-E50 and stream songs wirelessly from your music library through the stereo sound system! You can practise directly on the digital piano. Via Bluetooth MIDI, music can be produced more extensively using apps like Roland's Zenbeats.
The right connections
Music production made easy. Record chord changes and melodies on the FP-E50. With the flexible audio recorder, vocals are saved directly on the instrument or optionally to a USB flash drive. Data can then be transferred via USB Audio/MIDI to a PC and a DAW. With the line output, the FP-E50 can be connected directly to an audio interface, a mixing console or an external PA.

Roland was founded as a manufacturer of various musical instruments and studio equipment on 18 April 1972 in Osaka, Japan. Among the earliest products to reach the market were the first rhythm machines of the TR series, whose successors TR-808, TB-303 and TR-909 had a decisive influence on the techno, electro and hip-hop scenes. In the mid-1970s the JC-120 Jazz Chorus guitar amplifier was developed, whose ultra-clear sound together with the built-in chorus effect won over both Andy Summers of The Police and Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield of Metallica. Since then and to this day Roland have continuously expanded their catalogue across a wide range of fields such as digital pianos, grooveboxes, e-drums and synthesizers with high-quality and interesting products.
