UC1 is a hardware plug-in controller like no other. The layout of encoders, switches and colour groupings provides professional SSL console ergonomics that integrates seamlessly with the most advanced SSL Channel Strip and Bus Compressor plug-ins to date. Multiple parameters can be controlled simultaneously and precisely, so you're equipped with a production tool that not only builds "muscle memory" while offering unrivalled sonic flexibility, but also boosts the mixer's confidence in their decisions.
The heart of the UC1 system is the SSL 360° Plug-in Mixer. Here you can see and control all your 360°-capable channel strips and bus compressors in one place. The 360° Plug-in Mixer offers an efficient way to interact with multiple plug-ins at once, further closing the gap between console and in-the-box workflows.
UC1 provides dedicated controls for all the key 4K B and Channel Strip 2 plug-in parameters. EQ, filter, compressor and gate/expander controls offer the same configuration and visual feedback as found on the large SSL consoles.
The centrepiece of the UC1 is the bus compressor controls. The authentic layout and display give the impression you're controlling a hardware bus compressor mounted in the centre section of an SSL console. With a classic moving-coil gain reduction meter, as seen on SSL consoles since the 1970s, it accurately represents the time constants and gain-reduction character of the bus compressor, so producers and engineers know exactly how it reacts to their instruments, subgroups and, of course, the mix bus.
Perpetual plug-in licences for SSL 4K B, Channel Strip 2 and Bus Compressor 2 plug-ins are included with the UC1. The 4K B plug-in is an authentic emulation of the SL 4000 B channel strip — full-bodied sound, punch and rich non-linear analogue character. Channel Strip 2 is a fully featured channel strip based on digital modelling of the EQ and dynamics curves of the legendary XL 9000 K SuperAnalogue console. Bus Compressor 2 is the ultimate SSL bus compressor plug-in with additional ratio, attack and release options and oversampling.
