The KAOSS PAD V represents the fifth generation of KORG's legendary KAOSS effects units, which have been prized by DJs, producers and live performers around the world for over two decades for their exceptional audio effects and intuitive touch control.
For the first time in the KAOSS series, its revolutionary “Dual Touch” function allows simultaneous manipulation of different effect parameters with two fingers. This way, for example, filter settings and reverb amount can be adjusted on the touchpad at the same time, and of course in real time.
The eight favourite buttons let you call up your preferred effects instantly during a live performance.
A dedicated control allows quick adjustment of the effect amount on the signal at any time, and the “Pad Motion” function lets you record, play back and even reverse swipe gestures on the touchpad.
Connection-wise the KAOSS PAD V leaves nothing to be desired: in addition to LINE inputs and outputs and a separately controllable headphone output, there is also a balanced microphone input that can alternatively be used as a Hi-Z input for guitars or electric basses.
Thanks to the integrated USB audio interface, it is also possible to route audio signals directly from the computer into the KAOSS PAD or to record your performance within a DAW.
But that's not all: the KAOSS PAD V offers extensive sampling functions that allow you to sample, loop and remix live tracks in real time, turning the unit into the ultimate performance machine for the stage. Four sample banks are available for this purpose and can be used simultaneously. Depending on the song tempo, up to 8 bars can be looped per bank, processed with the internal effects and overdubbed as often as you like. The tempo-synchronised “Gate Hold” function ensures everything stays in the right groove at all times.
For recorded loops there are also different playback and slice modes available, which make it easy to create new arrangements in no time.
The huge selection of unique KAOSS effects includes filters, modulation effects, distortions, reverbs and delays as well as special vocoder and voice effects for intuitive processing and transformation of vocal, speech, rap and beatbox performances. And the best part: all effects can be customised via a browser-based editor software and saved as custom presets!

The Japanese company Korg INC is one of the most renowned manufacturers of our time when it comes to electronic musical instruments and accessories. Among musicians the company is often simply referred to as Korg. The company was founded on 28 August 1963 by Tsutomu Kato and Tadashi Osanai. The nearly 300 employees at Korg INC are mainly engaged in the manufacture and marketing of synthesizers and samplers, drum machines and sound modules, keyboards and electric pianos, but also USB controllers, electronic drums as well as handy little helpers for guitarists. Worth mentioning here are clip tuners (Pitch-Clip), tuners (CA-50, GA-50, Pitchblack) and metronomes (MA-2) as well as guitar and bass effects.
