In this continuation the material already learned is deepened and playing skills as well as theoretical knowledge are gradually expanded. New additions include playing in the keys of G major and F major, getting to know the black keys with the notes F# and B♭ and the notes a (small a), g'', a'', B'', c'''. New chords are also learned and the knowledge of the construction of major and minor chords as well as their inversions is conveyed.
“My Second Keyboard School!” consists of three parts: The first part reviews the keys of C major and A minor and introduces the new keys of G major and F major. In the second part the left-hand playing is not limited to chords. The bass clef is introduced to enable a variable left-hand part, bringing added variety. Piano-style playing is taught very simply while expanding left-hand abilities and overall coordination. This leads to new sonic experiences. In the third part further keyboard pieces are learned and the new keys are consolidated. The musical styles are varied and range from pop, blues and rock to classical. There is also the possibility to play some pieces as keyboard & piano versions. This makes the musical and harmonic relationships even clearer.
Jens Rupp has been working as a piano and keyboard teacher for over 30 years. With this experience he has now created a tutor that unites his previous teaching methods and positive experience as a teacher. With “My First Keyboard School!”, its follow-up “My Second Keyboard School!” and “My Third Keyboard School!” a contemporary and fundamentally didactically thought-through series has been created that is easy to understand and logically comprehensible for pupils and teachers. Through carefully graded lessons the foundations for making music with the keyboard are taught gently – thoroughly, sonically motivating and effectively. In addition, the school contains many well-known and also new compositions that lead the pupil with much joy to successful keyboard playing.
