The NUX Verb Core Deluxe is a reverb pedal with eight different impressive reverb sounds, including Room, Hall, Plate, Damp, Shim, Spring, Tre-Verb and Mod-Verb. You can select the reverb type easily with the Type control.
The Room reverb simulates a smaller acoustic space. In such a room many reflections are absorbed by soft materials, and the sound is reflected only by the (wallpapered) walls, the windows and perhaps some furniture. This reverb type therefore resembles the normal ambience we are used to hearing in the real world.
The Hall mode is based on the legendary Lexicon 224, released in 1978. Its famous lush reverb tail shaped the sound of an entire era. Here you get a full reverb sound with a warm, organic decay behaviour.
The Plate reverb was inspired by the EMT 140 a unit built around a metal plate suspended in a steel frame. It can recreate the reverberation of an acoustic space, but with a particular character that represents the now-classic sound from the early days of pop music.
The Damp reverb sounds huge and endless, warm and natural.
With the Shim/Shimmer sound the reverb in each feedback loop is pitch-shifted up by one octave. This creates a supernatural, almost spacey sound. Its a unique effect that offers some interesting and experimental tones.
The Spring mode simulates the fluid, droplet-like character produced by a mechanical oscillation in a spring reverb unit. Spring reverb is the classic sound for surf music or rockabilly!
Tre-Verb (Tremolo Verb) combines tremolo and spring reverb, like on a vintage tube amp. This sound provides a warm tremolo-and-spring atmosphere that fills the tone with classic depth and dimension.
Mod-Verb (Modulation Verb) combines a wide, chorus-like modulation with a lush, atmospheric Damp sound.
