Hotone Audio is taking new directions with the VERBERA Reverb from the Neon Glow series: the dual reverb processor offers a combination of IR-based convolution reverb and an additional algorithmic XR-Reverb. Both reverb engines can be operated simultaneously and blended continuously. 120 preinstalled reverb IRs, ranging from natural rooms to experimental ambience reverbs, are on board. Up to 1024 IRs can be loaded. The real trick, however, is the Reverb Cloning function: reverb spaces of other effects units can be cloned and converted into IRs — similar to amp and effect captures. Operation is relatively simple: dual-function knobs and an integrated search and sort function for presets and IRs provide quick access to the effect programmes. With the Freeze footswitch, reverb programmes can be "frozen" - the reverb wash of a chord is held endlessly as long as the footswitch is kept pressed. The free Neon Collector Software allows loading and managing third-party IRs and presets, as well as creating your own IR captures. Pure analogue dry-through signal path, connection for an expression pedal and MIDI for external control of various effect parameters.
