At 4-watts, with all-valve Class-A circuitry, the new VOX AC4TVH may well be the perfect practice and recording guitar head amp, thanks to a built-in 4-watt to 1-watt output power attenuator. The VOX AC4TVH 4-watt is a cool Class-A all-valve guitar head amp for practice and recording based on the VOX AC4 design from the 1960s. The 4-watt head amp features improvements on the hardware of its vintage VOX counterpart, while retaining the distinctive EL84 power valve of the original design. To give classic valve tone at any level, the VOX AC4TVH head amp features a built-in power attenuator with 4-watt / 1-watt / 1/4-watt output levels. The Class A VOX AC4TVH guitar head amp retains the distinctive EL84 power valve from the original VOX AC4, but now features 12AX7 valve preamplifier that works with the EL84 valve to deliver 4-watts of all-valve output power. Retro-chic tone and retro-vibe from the styling of a 1958 AC15-style TV front design with VOX signature diamond grillecloth. Practicing or recording, the VOX AC4TVH delivers classic valve tones atreasonable listening levels. The VOX AC4TVH is designed to crank at sensible levels with a built-in power attenuator to take the AC4TV from 4- watts down to 1-watt or just 1/4-watt. It's the perfect partner for late night recording sessions, when you don't want to wake up the neighbors. The VOX AC4TVH is also a great amp to take to practices and to your smaller gigs. The VOX AC4TVH guitar head amp offers up all-valve VOX tone at practice and record volume levels! When an amplifier's output valves are passing current at all times, including when the amplifier is at idle with no music playing, whether the amplifier is single ended or push-pull, the amplifier is said to be biased in Class A, like the VOX AC4TVH guitar head amp. Because the current is flowing at all times, an input signal causes the current to be immediately diverted to the speakers, and therefore, the sound is very fast and responsive. In the case of a push-pull amplifier, there is also less crossover distortion when the signal passes from the positive to the negative or negative to positive voltages, since each side of the push-pull section is already turned on.
