Product information "Strymon VOLANTE Magnetic echo Machine"
Strymon goes vintage! Strymon has taken the good old magnetic technology (drum/tape/studio) based delays and authentically recreated them using the latest digital technology. Vintage delays like the Binson Drum Delay, in which a magnetized, rotating drum with various tape heads is picked up, the Tape Delay - in which a tape loop is passed past several tape heads - or the Studio Delay, in which echo effects were generated using synchronized tape machines, have a certain charm that is difficult to reproduce with modern delay pedals. The Strymon Volante requires a lot of processing power to imitate all aspects of the original sounds, which is no problem thanks to a powerful Shark processor. On board, as with many vintage delays, is the obligatory spring reverb. All the typical parameters of vintage sounds such as wow and flutter, worn tape material or worn heads are taken into account by the Volante. The sound of the pedal is typically vintage delay – warm and round with the characteristic background noise artifacts. The technical features are contemporary: a JFET preamp section for tube-like sound, MIDI and USB interface, expression pedal connection and 8 user presets.

This the best delay/echo pedal I have ever used. It’s capable of dialing so much modern and vintage delays. Possibilities are almost endless. It’s a full metal jacked pedal. So it can stand most heavy boot stomping. Just buy it if you need a delay/echo pedal you’re not gonna be disappointed. One thing I had some trouble with is saving the presets. The pedal can handle according to Strymons manual eight presets. I came to two. But maybe I need to try a little more. Anyway as try out I’ve saved two Hank Marvin echo’s and the pedal gives you exactly that. I’m happy.
