THE NEW REFERENCE FOR CLOSE MIKING
The Miniature Clip Mic MCM system raises the bar for electret microphones. In typical Neumann fashion, the system reproduces the characteristic sound of acoustic instruments in live applications perfectly. It sets new standards for natural sound, handling, reliable attachment and durability. The system includes nine instrument-specific mounting clips for a wide range of acoustic instruments. The modular overall design allows easy replacement of individual components and guarantees an exceptionally attractive return on investment.
THE CAPSULE: PERFECTION IN EIGHT PARTS
A new level of tonal balance, a more natural low and midrange and transparent highs: the newly developed KK 14 with cardioid pattern overcomes previous limitations of the electret principle and fully reproduces the characteristic sound of acoustic instruments. Neumann developed a unique layered design for this. All components were designed for optimal performance, manufactured individually and then assembled by hand. Strict quality control guarantees an unprecedented degree of sonic consistency: each capsule sounds exactly the same and delivers a typically neutral Neumann sound. That saves time during setup and soundcheck because manufacturing tolerances no longer need to be compensated by EQ. With an extremely low self-noise (23 dBA) and a maximum sound pressure level of 153 dB SPL, the KK 14 delivers perfect sound with both very quiet and very loud instruments. The titanium housing is extremely robust and built for many years of live use.
COMPATIBILITY
The Miniature Clip Mic MCM system includes interchangeable cables for 3.5 mm jack, Lemo, Mini-XLR 4-pin and MicroDot – adapters are not required. The microphone can also be used wired with the MCM 100 output stage and a 3.5 mm jack.
MOUNTING OPTIONS
As simple as it is reliable on every instrument: a wide selection of mounting options is a fundamental part of the Miniature Clip Mic MCM system. The mechanism protects the most sensitive surfaces and reduces mounting to seconds – usually with just one hand. The flexible goose-neck can be aligned precisely and fixed to the instrument clips in one or two axes in 45-degree steps.
