Product information "Martin D-28 Authentic 1937 Aged"
If you're looking for a new guitar that looks and sounds like you've been playing it for 80 years, you've just found your holy grail of guitars. 1937 was an outstanding year for guitars, with a perfect storm of craftsmanship, innovation and materials. The Aged version of the D-28 Authentic 1937 contains all the benefits of the Martin Authentic Series, such as the glued construction and the hand-crafted X-Braces. It also features the Vintage Tone System® (VTS), which ages the wood to reproduce the tone of an old Martin. Martin's craftsmen are able to recreate the appealing visual aesthetic of a vintage guitar and reproduce the special tonal colours that used to be reserved for vintage instruments. Martin has now reintroduced a more precise body profile based on the dreadnought shapes from the early Golden Era of Martin's history. The result is a tactile, visual and auditory experience that will take you straight back to the 1930s. And we know you'll love it there!

The company C.F. Martin & Co., or simply Martin Guitars, can look back on a long company tradition and several innovative inventions. Chief among these is the development of the dreadnought shape and thus the steel‑string acoustic guitar as we know it today. With this, the family business, which spans over 175 years, has shaped the music world to this day. Innovations introduced by Martin that became standard in guitar making also include guitars with 14 frets clear of the body as well as X‑bracing. This allows greater stability and load-bearing capacity of the top (soundboard) thanks to strips glued to the inside of the top. To this day Martin guitars are renowned for their high quality and, of course, for their tone, and are very popular among guitarists. You can find a wide selection with us in the shop or in our branches ready to play. In our Martin Premium steel‑string acoustic guitars section you'll also find a selection of the finest acoustic guitar models from all Martin series.
The name of the US company Martin Guitars, actually C.F. Martin & Co., Inc., has stood for the highest quality and innovation in the construction of stringed instruments since 1833. When people think of Martin they immediately think of the acoustic guitar, since the company founder and German emigrant Christian Friedrich Martin gave the instruments the form we still know and appreciate today. Among the company's inventions are the special bracing (X‑bracing), the neck join at the 14th fret and popular body shapes such as the dreadnought guitar.
In our range you'll find, alongside classics such as the D-, OM-, J- and 000‑models, also Custom Shop and signature models by renowned artists like Ed Sheeran, Eric Clapton and John Mayer. We also carry the popular Martin Backpacker Steel and the Little Martin.
