The Danish pedal manufacturer Carl Martin has landed a real hit with the PlexiTone pedal. In collaboration with Pete Thorn, the Single Plexi Tone pedal has been developed. The single variant fits into a pedalboard-friendly standard enclosure. In contrast to the large PlexiTone pedal, the midrange has been extended, making the pedal easier to adapt to various amps without piercing highs or booming lows. The single variant can be operated with a standard 9-volt power supply – the operating voltage is converted internally to 12 volts for extended headroom. The Single Plexi Tone Pedal covers a wide range of classic British amp sounds, from light distortion to heavy crunch.
