Modern reinterpretation

The Fender American Ultra is Fender's flagship series and sits qualitatively between the American Vintage II series and directly beneath the Fender Custom Shop models. Thanks to its modern design, the American Ultra series is clearly distinct from the vintage‑oriented guitars that make up a large part of Fender's wider line‑up. American Ultra is Fender's most advanced series, offering highly developed guitars and basses for musicians who demand the best in precision, performance and tone.

On most American Ultra models the body is made of alder, while the necks are, as you'd expect, maple. The necks with the unique “Modern D” neck profile and softly rolled fretboard edges play almost by themselves. The compound‑radius fretboards with a 10" to 14" radius and 22 medium‑jumbo frets sit comfortably under the fretting hand. The contoured neck heel allows easy access even in the highest positions.
The electronics are no afterthought either: the newly developed Fender Noiseless single‑coils deliver hum‑free performance even at high volumes and on large stages. Depending on the model, Fender Double Tap humbuckers with coil‑tap function are also fitted to expand tonal possibilities.

The American Ultra Luxe Collection

The American Ultra Luxe models represent a further development of the American Ultra series. The Ultra Luxe instruments combine the same features as the Ultras, with the addition of stainless steel frets that are extremely durable and help minimise fretboard wear. All American Ultra Luxe models also feature a matching headstock finish that perfectly complements the instruments' modern look. Some models are furthermore equipped with a Floyd Rose tremolo, which is particularly appealing to guitarists with heavier playing styles.
