Amp models based on those of the Vox Cambridge50
The amp models that define the sound of the Vox Mini Go series are based on the 'VET' modelling technology used in the Vox Cambridge50, which delivers a particularly realistic and dynamic sound. Among the selectable amp models you'll find, alongside the traditional Vox AC30, for example the model of a popular amp stack from the 1980s, a boutique amp and a high‑gain amp with powerful distortion. The selectable LINE model, on the other hand, is ideal for connecting an acoustic guitar with a pickup or a keyboard.
A new and unique vocoder offers the possibility of 'talking' modulation effects that can make the guitar seem to speak. For this you sing or speak into a connected microphone while playing the guitar. (If no microphone is connected, the effect works dynamically via the pick attack.)
Built-in effects to refine the sounds
The effects of the VOX MINI GO series have been newly revised and deliver an even clearer sound, as heard in current music productions. The effects have also been modelled more precisely, offering even more options to shape your guitar sound. Among others you will find effect types such as chorus, phaser and octaver. Combined with the delay and reverb effects, this results in a total of eight different effect types.
Backing capability via built-in rhythm section
The built-in rhythm patterns of this series cover a wide variety of genres and metronome styles. For each genre there are three variations available, giving a total of 33 different rhythm patterns. With the selector knob you can easily choose a suitable rhythm pattern. Tempo and volume can be freely adjusted, so nothing stands in the way of a jam session with rhythm accompaniment. This function is also useful when working out new riff ideas or improving your timing.
Can also be powered by an external powerbank – the perfect choice for outdoor gigs
The Vox Mini Go series can be powered either via the supplied mains adapter or via a commercially available powerbank. This makes these amps perfect for street musicians or generally for outdoor performances. With the supplied shoulder strap you can easily take the amp anywhere, so you can play guitar anywhere, anytime.
Extensive connectivity, ideal for solo performances with guitar and vocals
In addition to a guitar input, these amplifiers also offer numerous other connection options. The microphone input volume can be adjusted separately. Furthermore, delay or reverb effects can be mixed into the microphone signal, which is ideal for a setup of acoustic guitar and vocals, for example. The amps in the series also feature a special VOCODER effect that sounds as if the guitar is speaking. This effect is achieved by singing or speaking into the connected microphone while playing the guitar.
An AUX input for connecting an external music player or another external sound source is of course also included. This means there are three different inputs available in total that can be used simultaneously (guitar, microphone, AUX).
In addition, the amplifier offers a built-in cabinet simulation that is applied at the headphone output. This cabinet simulation adds the typical characteristics of a real guitar cabinet to the signal before the power stage. This is a particularly useful feature for recording or practising with headphones.

The legendary sound of Vox Amplification begins with Dick Denney, an amp designer who worked for the English JMI Corporation in 1957. Dick was himself a passionate guitarist and, together with the JMI staff, developed an amplifier that could deliver the volume guitarists of his time were looking for to fill entire arenas. The result of their work was introduced to the market in January 1958. This amplifier, called the AC1/15, marks Vox's first appearance and thus began a story that has been highly successful for over 60 years. Later this amplifier was, for simplicity, renamed the Vox AC15 and quickly became the first choice of the best London guitarists, including Vic Flick, who used an AC15 for the legendary recording of the James Bond Theme.
In the spring of 1960 Dick and his crew quickly realised that London's rising bands needed more power from their amplifiers. Rock music was on the rise and demanded the perfect amps. Dick decided to double the power of his renowned AC15 rather than design an entirely new amp. The cabinet was enlarged and an additional speaker added. The new amplifier was named the AC30/4 Twin. With 30 watts, two 12" Celestion speakers, four inputs and two channels, the Vox AC30/4 Twin was a hit among musicians in the British scene and established Vox as one of the most successful amp manufacturers in the UK.
In July 1962 two lads from Liverpool bought their first Vox amps, an AC15 Twin and an AC30 Twin with Top Boost. Later that same year they recorded a song called Love Me Do in the studio with their band The Beetles. From that point on their unique guitar sound became the standard in modern music.
The massive success Vox achieved in the 1960s laid the foundation for the legacy that still thrives nearly 60 years later. Amps such as the AC10, AC15 and AC30 are still among Vox's most popular products for professional and hobby guitarists.
Many of Vox's current products, such as the renowned Valvetronix amplifiers or the Mini Go- and amPlug series, feature state-of-the-art technology to achieve unprecedented tonal flexibility. With the ability to offer both classic valve tones and advanced modelling technology, Vox has many amplifiers in its range that meet the needs of the modern guitarist.
The sound of Vox amplifiers has shaped the sound of pop music over the past 60 years. Many influential artists, such as Dave Grohl and Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters), Albert Hammond Jr (The Strokes), Brian May (Queen) or Bob Weir (The Greatful Dead), rely on Vox amplifiers to boost their guitar sound both in the studio and on stage.
