Thanks to the huge selection of high-quality amp simulations, numerous effects and the intuitive operation via the touchscreen display, the Neural DSP Quad Cortex is the all-in-one, everywhere solution for the modern musician. Alongside the excellent sound, the Neural Capture technology and the constantly growing sound library, the versatile connectivity and seamless integration into almost any setup are at the heart of the Quad Cortex.
Via the very high-quality and responsive display you can make all necessary settings. Additionally, parameter values can be controlled by hand using the rotatable footswitches.
In the upper half of the display this image shows a signal flow with various effects. The individual objects are moved via drag & drop. The corresponding values are shown in the lower half of the display. Adjustments are made directly with your finger or the respective rotary knobs.
From simple to complex setups: the Quad Cortex offers enough power to implement even extravagant ideas in a user-friendly way.
Connections of the Quad Cortex
- Two mono combo input jacks: TS, TRS and XLR with variable impedance and level control. Built-in microphone preamps and phantom power
- Two effect send-return paths: for integrating external mono and stereo effects or additional line ins/outs.

- MIDI In/Out/Thru: Parameters in the Quad Cortex and other connected MIDI-capable devices can be automated via the protocol.

- USB port: for connection to a PC as an audio interface, for data transfer, updates, etc.
- 11 high-quality stainless steel footswitches that double as rotary push-encoders for operating the Quad Cortex.
Neural Capture Technology
With the Quad Cortex you can capture, share and download the tones of favourite amplifier setups. The unique biomimetic AI technology enables the unit to learn and replicate the tonal characteristics of physical amplifiers, overdrive effect pedals and cabinets with unprecedented realism.
Unlike other solutions, the advanced neural network algorithm uses a perception of sound similar to the human one. This makes the Quad Cortex the most naturally sounding capture solution worldwide. In addition to the full-circuit models, Neural DSP works with some of the best producers and sound designers to offer a constantly growing collection of free rig captures!

Cortex Cloud
Discover other users, presets and Neural Captures via the Cortex mobile app for iOS and Android devices. By linking a Neural DSP account with the Quad Cortex you can create backups, share content and download items from other users. Access to the Impulse Response Library is also unlocked. From there, IRs can be transferred to the Quad Cortex and the IRs stored on an account can be managed.

Other updates include a global bypass for cabinet or impulse-response simulations (Cab/IR), a master equalizer (EQ), the ability to assign the master volume control, a gain-reduction meter, device versioning, a tap-tempo function for scene switching, scene bypass behaviour and an IR load block.

The following features were added:
- Preset metadata: You can now see a list of devices used in a preset, including the official manufacturer names of the models.
- Preset scenes: You can now view the scenes configured for a preset and switch between them to visualise the bypass status of each device.
- You can now edit or delete your uploaded presets or captures from your profile.
- Several small UI and backend changes were made.
- The "Preset Devices" and "Scenes" buttons are shown below the preset description.
- The "Preset Devices" page lists all devices used in the preset and, where available, displays the manufacturer and product name.
- On the "Scenes" page, the dropdown menu or the footswitches can be used to display the name of each configured scene in the preset as well as the bypass status of the devices used. In a future version it will be possible to interact with the devices to view parameter settings and more.

Product information "Neural DSP Quad Cortex"
They created a monster!!!! Rarely has a modeller caused such a frenzy at the NAMM Show as the Neural DSP Quad Cortex. The compact floor unit is packed with the finest high-tech. At the heart of the Neural DSP is a super-fast 2 Ghz SHARC Quad Core processor - a real statement! The Neural DSP is operated via a 7" touchscreen - the footswitches can also be used as real-time controllers. On board are 50 first-class amp modellings, 70 effect modellings and no less than 1000!!!! IR cab sims. External IRs can be integrated very easily. But the absolute hit is the Neural Capture feature - existing equipment can be profiled and digitally modelled just like with the previous top dogs Kemper and AxeFX. The whole thing is housed in a very sturdy metal casing, which can easily withstand a knock or two (demonstrated impressively at NAMM when a sturdily built 130 kg employee jumped onto the device with a colleague on his shoulder! ). In addition to the usual MIDI and USB interfaces, a WIFI interface is also included, allowing all functions to be controlled remotely via smartphone.
