The German tube amp manufacturer Engl has also contributed a module for the Synergy system - the Powerball module is based on the amp of the same name. The module offers 2 channels of overdrive and high gain that correspond to the blue and red channels of the Powerball. Engl mastermind Horst Langer is responsible for the circuit design. Another useful addition to the extensive Synergy module range.

This module is awesome, the gains are TIGHT! No flubbyness in the lows. The gain is also smooth, no jar of bees, just sustain and directness. But the first channel isn't that high gain as you'd expect, it's more crunchy and can clean up very well. Lower the gain and bass and turn up the treble and you get a kind of bell like AC30 sound. The 3 way mid switches are great for thickening up the sound. There's one for each channel.
