The grand that blends technology with tradition
The ROLAND GP609 PE is an uncompromising grand. It delivers the playing experience and tone of a traditional acoustic grand piano, an instrument that has been a musical cornerstone for more than 300 years. At the same time, the use of cutting‑edge digital technology gives you boundless creative possibilities. Since developing the world’s first velocity‑sensitive electric piano in 1974, Roland has been one of the leading innovators in the digital piano field.
The best of acoustic tradition. The strengths of modern technology.
By combining advanced technology with an authentic playing feel, this luxurious instrument in classic grand‑piano cabinet design offers every pianist an extraordinary grand experience. Be inspired by the latest sound engine and a brand‑new keyboard action and experience the enhanced multi‑channel speaker system as well as a wealth of digital advantages. The result is a superb sound that will spark your creativity for years to come.
SuperNATURAL Modelling for authentic performances
The ROLAND GP609 PE represents the cutting edge of digital instruments and is based on Roland’s renowned SuperNATURAL Piano‑Modelling technology, which recreates the entire sound‑generation process of an acoustic piano, allowing a full and complex tone. Be inspired by the unique keyboard made of wood and modern composite materials, which delivers an authentic touch and outstanding durability. At the same time, the expressive damper pedal convinces even the most demanding pianists with advanced playing techniques.
Luxurious appearance and authentic grand impression
Despite its advanced technology, the ROLAND GP609 PE retains a traditional style in its cabinet design. The combination of classic lines and a space‑saving grand cabinet is available in two premium finishes: Polished Ebony and Polished White.
Room‑filling sound from specially developed speakers
A defining feature of a classic acoustic grand is its dominant sound and the way it naturally projects into the room. Thanks to the integrated sound system with specially developed multi‑channel audio technology, the ROLAND GP609 PE achieves the same impressive effect and produces an immersive, room‑filling sound that seems to come straight from the heart of your instrument. Whether you play at home or in larger spaces such as restaurants or hotel lounges, you can always rely on a powerful, expressive and controllable sound that fills any room.
Expand your creative possibilities
Nowadays people increasingly play along to their personal favourite songs on their smartphone. With integrated wireless Bluetooth functionality the ROLAND GP609 PE goes a step further and lets you comfortably stream music through the powerful built‑in piano speakers for an inspiring, immersive experience. By installing the free Roland Piano Partner 2 app on your tablet, Bluetooth technology lets you learn and play the piano completely wirelessly.
A grand for every application
A grand is a precise and majestic instrument with a powerful and expressive sound. Its dignified appearance lends a touch of classical elegance to any room – at home or at a venue. Despite its unquestionable beauty, owning an acoustic grand also brings many benefits and challenges. These include the cost of regular tuning and maintenance of the keyboard action as well as the high weight, which makes moving the instrument difficult. Thanks to its many digital advantages, the ROLAND GP609 PE sidesteps these issues and enables flexible playing enjoyment at home or at a venue – without extra cost or effort.

Roland was founded as a manufacturer of various musical instruments and studio equipment on 18 April 1972 in Osaka, Japan. Among the earliest products to reach the market were the first rhythm machines of the TR series, whose successors TR-808, TB-303 and TR-909 had a decisive influence on the techno, electro and hip-hop scenes. In the mid-1970s the JC-120 Jazz Chorus guitar amplifier was developed, whose ultra-clear sound together with the built-in chorus effect won over both Andy Summers of The Police and Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield of Metallica. Since then and to this day Roland have continuously expanded their catalogue across a wide range of fields such as digital pianos, grooveboxes, e-drums and synthesizers with high-quality and interesting products.
