Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX10

This 4-channel performance DJ controller for rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro contains a host of brand-new features that open up fresh creative possibilities. These include functions for quick and easy mash-ups without the need to prepare tracks in advance.

Thanks to the new track separation technology in rekordbox, you can load tracks from your music library onto the DDJ-FLX10 as usual and then manipulate different musical elements. That enables countless unique performances, including live mash-ups. The controller focuses on the three track elements crucial to DJing: Vocals, Drums and Inst (other instruments). That makes it easy to play with each element individually.

With the enhanced on-jog display you can see more information on the DDJ-FLX10’s jog wheels, and you can also customise the controller’s appearance. Inspired by the jog wheels of the popular DDJ-1000, there are four modes that display waveform info in different ways.

The DDJ-FLX10 introduces Mix-Point Link, a new rekordbox feature that lets you link playback points in tracks for clean, seamless transitions within a set. That frees your hands to get creative with effects or create live mash-ups.

To really captivate the audience, the DDJ-FLX10 lets you enhance performances with hypnotic lighting effects. The controller’s DMX output can drive lights without additional equipment.

Track separation for innovative performances — including live mash-ups
If you want to create unique live performances that aren’t possible with conventional DJ gear, the DDJ-FLX10 is the answer. Thanks to its track separation technology, you can load tracks from a music library and use the controller to remix and mash up by manipulating the three main elements independently: Vocals, Drums and Inst (other instruments including bass and synths). For example, you can play the instruments and drums from one track while the vocals come from a track on another deck. Special colour-coded buttons control the individual parts, so you always have a clear view of what’s playing.

• Active-Part and Part-Iso
You can adjust the level for Vocals, Drums or Inst individually to create new mixes. Or you can mute any combination of the three parts to create live mash-ups with other tracks.

• FX-Part-Select
Select parts of a track to apply effects to — perfect for creating your own live remixes. For example, you could add echo to the vocals while leaving the rest of the track untouched.

• Part-Instant-Doubles
By isolating a specific part of a track (Vocals, Drums or Inst) you can transfer it to another deck to scratch with it.

Enhanced on-jog display
With the new on-jog display, developed from the DDJ-1000, you can customise the information shown on the jog wheels so you no longer need to take your eyes off the decks. Four modes are available (see below). Some display 3-band waveforms (rekordbox only), similar to the flagship CDJ-3000 multiplayer. The new Mix-Point Link info, rekordbox vocal position analysis info and performance pad status can also be viewed directly.

• Deck Info Mode – shows deck information including the overall waveform. (When using Serato DJ Pro this mode shows Serato DJ Pro’s virtual deck).
• Waveform Mode – shows zoomed waveforms for two decks.
• Artwork Display – shows the artwork for the track currently playing.
• DJ Logo Display – shows your own logo or favourite image on each deck after it has been transferred with the "Image Transfer Tool" for PC/Mac.

New Mix-Point Link for seamless transitions
The DDJ-FLX10 makes use of a completely new playback concept in rekordbox. By linking mix points in tracks you can create smooth musical transitions in sets so the next track starts at the perfect moment. You can set the next track to begin at the start of a melody when the vocals of the current track end. This creates a seamless transition without sounds clashing. It works without manual counting or pressing the play button, leaving your hands free for mash-ups or working with effects.

DMX output for rekordbox Lighting function
Enhance your performances with lighting that matches the mood of the music. The rekordbox Lighting function makes this easy, and thanks to the DDJ-FLX10’s DMX output you don’t need extra devices such as an external DMX interface. Simply connect DMX-compatible lights to the controller. In rekordbox you can now create your own lighting effects or let the software automatically generate colours and light movement that match the music.

Improved 4-sensor MAGVEL fader
The MAGVEL fader on the DDJ-FLX10 has been upgraded from the 2-sensor system of the DDJ-1000 to a 4-sensor system. This enables the finest volume adjustments, regardless of how small the crossfader movement is, allowing even more musical performances.

Compatible with rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro
The DDJ-FLX10 offers free plug-and-play compatibility with rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro, so you can easily control your preferred software. DVS support is available in rekordbox via selected subscriptions and for Serato via a paid licence/subscription for Serato DJ expansions or the Serato DJ Suite. To use the controller with rekordbox you need the PC/Mac version of the software. To use it with Serato DJ Pro, make sure you have the latest version installed.

Additional enhanced features:

Multicolour jog ring
The multicolour jog ring, used for the first time in a Pioneer DJ controller, can show the different parts of a track that are playing when using the track separation functions. Naturally, you can also use the colours to customise the controller to your preferred look.

Iconic, intuitive design
The new track separation possibilities of the DDJ-FLX10 are reflected in the control layout — which forms a circle of three differently coloured LEDs — and in the overall design of the unit, which looks like three overlapping layers.
