Exclusive Groove Tubes design: The Groove Tubes GT-EL34S is the driving force behind the typical British guitar stacks. The cooling fins mounted on the metal envelope give this version of the EL34 up to 20% more output compared with the original. The tube can be used anywhere the original EL34 was previously fitted. Our EL34 remains reliably sealed — even at full power. It delivers high dynamics, broad low end and, thanks to the additional cooling, lasts a very long time. Sonically it offers phenomenal headroom, a powerful killer sound and all the proven characteristics of the classic EL34 model. The delivery includes a matched pair of EL34 tubes with medium rated power.

Richard Aspen Pittman is known to most guitarists as a tireless inventor, thinker and creative mind. Already at the age of 11 he played in local bands. At 18 he took a job at the newly opened Guitar Center in Hollywood. Through that job he made contacts with the top musicians of the time and was able to help during recording sessions and on tours to find the ultimate sound.
In 1979 he finally set himself up as an independent consultant with his own company, advising many musical-instrument manufacturers and numerous bands. In the same year he tried to optimise the way tube amps worked. He invented a special testing system for tubes and then sorted the selected tubes into different classes: tube matching was invented.
He then founded the company Groove Tubes. To this day there is still the misconception that Groove Tubes manufactured the tubes themselves. This is not the case: Aspen bought tubes from around the world, inspected and measured them, and then sold them in matched sets, resulting in a perfectly matched pair or quartet. Furthermore, by dividing them into different classes, the amplifier's sound could be influenced to suit personal preferences.
