Product information "Evans TT15EC2S - EC2 Clear Drum head, 15 inches"
A special feature of the EC2S heads is Evans' newly developed Sound Shaping Technology. This technology allows each head to be fitted with individual damping according to its size. The damping material is not glued on but is incorporated directly into the head and varies in thickness and width depending on the head diameter. Thanks to this bespoke damping, the new EC2S heads deliver more tone, more sustain and a crisp attack. Additionally, the new EC2S heads offer a greater tuning range and dynamic range.
Evans Edge Control EC2S Clear
Revolutionary Sound Shaping Technology enables individual damping for each drum. The drums are fitted with damping material of the appropriate thickness and width according to diameter, resulting in a full, powerful bass response and fewer unwanted overtones, whether for the small toms (6", 8" or 10") or for the larger shells (16", 18" floor toms).

Evans has shaped the sound of drummers around the world for over 60 years. With the introduction of the first synthetic drumhead in 1956 by Chick Evans, the brand set new standards in terms of progress and development that changed the drumming world forever. By using polymer film instead of conventional leather, a head was created that offered a surprisingly similar sound to natural skins while at the same time being resistant to temperature and humidity. Nowadays real animal skins are only used for percussion instruments like congas or bongos, with Evans having laid the foundation for today's industry standard.
Driven by its own ambition to produce the most technologically advanced drumheads in the world, the brand can point to further innovations such as the patented UV coating process or the Level-360 technology, and for more than 60 years has focused on manufacturing high-quality heads that help drummers solve their sonic problems.
