The 4466 CORE omnidirectional headworn microphone combines the proven 5 mm capsules with CORE by DPA technology and the Red Dot award-winning neckband concept.

These are the most advanced headsets - safe, durable and flexible - for areas such as: Theatre, Broadcast, Church and Conference.

This omnidirectional microphone offers clear and transparent sound quality with plenty of headroom. The sensitivity of the microphone is 6mV/Pa. This matches the level of the human voice to the usual input sensitivity of most wire terminals. With the correct power supply, the microphone can handle very high sound pressure levels of up to 134 dB SPL, allowing users to both speak and sing into the microphone without distortion. The maximum sound pressure tolerance is an astonishing 144 dB.

Technically sophisticated neckband mechanism The new universal-sized headband has the most sophisticated design currently available on the market. It guarantees comfort even when worn for long periods without compromising on safety. It adapts discreetly and comfortably to the shape of the head and is easy to adjust. The spring mechanism, which sits comfortably but firmly on the ear, ensures a secure feeling during your performance. The headband can also be adjusted to the performer's individual head shape on site, ensuring a perfect fit. These features are also the reason for the Red Dot Award 2019.

Adjustable temple in one size The temple is made of stainless steel and has a PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) coating for its extremely robust design. It is resistant to high temperatures, impact and abrasion. The one-size-fits-all temple is suitable for all head shapes and has a simple adjustment mechanism, so it can be easily adjusted in size. Thanks to its unique anatomical shape, it sits securely and comfortably on the head. The entire microphone has a subtle matt look thanks to the coating. The headband appears smaller and less conspicuous overall than other headband solutions. In addition, the size of the microphone is not compromised as the PVD coating is not only extremely robust, but also exceptionally thin.

2-way adjustable boom system

The boom can be adjusted for the perfect fit so that it sits perfectly at the corner of the performer's mouth (the optimum position for a headworn microphone). The boom can not only be lengthened / shortened, it can be rotated at a fixed point under the ear (no bending of the boom). The anti-rotation mechanism is integrated into the headband shape and prevents unintentional rotation. The sliding lock ensures that the boom locks in the desired position. The entire boom can be removed at a point under the ear and moved from the right side of the neckband to the left.

We have attached a service plug to the end of the boom so that the boom and cable can be replaced independently of each other. The service plug is well protected by a plastic cover that can be slid over the gold-plated plugs.

PVD-coated microphone

The surfaces of the beige and brown versions of the microphone are PVD-coated and match the colour of the boom, giving the entire headset a very clear line.

Three-point mounting system

The contact points on our new headband feature incredible technology. Most headbands have either a one or two-point retention system that rests over the ears or (sometimes) below the ear. This headset has a three-point retention system that provides additional support behind the ear by pushing slightly inwards.

This not only ensures a secure fit on the head even in motion-intensive situations, but also exceptional comfort, even when worn for long periods of time. In addition, the sophisticated ergonomic shape of these contact points adapts to the shape of the head.

90° cable management system

The headset has its cable routing directly at the rear end of the headband so that the cables can be laid inconspicuously on the performer's back. The cable guide can be moved sideways to take the cable out of the camera's field of vision. The special design decouples the cable from the movement of the boom, ensuring that there is no strain on the cable when the boom moves. This extends the life of the microphone cable.

The cable is often the weak point in this type of microphone. However, we have opted for the same cable size (Ø 1.6 mm (0.06 inch)) as usual. They are extremely durable, do not tangle and have a Kevlar core that can withstand heavy pulling. They are of the highest standard the market has to offer.

The design of the cable, capsule and boom makes the microphone immune to interference from wireless devices. Headsets are usually connected to a bodypack transmitter. We offer a wide range of adapters to connect the various wireless transmitters. When used with an adapter, the connection is made via our MicroDot connector. However, we also offer hard-wired connectors that are compatible with the most common systems from manufacturers such as Shure and Sennheiser. Our plugs are all equipped with a robust strain relief.

The adapters for wireless systems offer you flexible, simple and affordable options. This means you are no longer tied to one wireless system. If your requirements change, simply replace your adapter instead of buying a completely new microphone. After the changeover, you will not notice any loss or deterioration in the sound quality of the microphone, as the adapters are adapted to the specific transmitter types.
