Back in 2008, BLACKSTAR set the stage for low wattage amps with their HT-5 amplifier, which was particularly suitable for use at home and in the studio. With the HT-5R MkIII, BLACKSTAR goes one step further and introduces new features such as recording via USB-C and BLACKSTAR's speaker simulation Cabrig, which allows guitarists to choose between 100 different cabinet, microphone, microphone placement and room settings. These settings can be saved and stored in 3 presets that can be recalled directly from the amplifier. The patented ISF control allows for both American and British sounds and a variety in between. The ability to reduce the wattage from 5W to 0.5W means that the amplifier sounds convincing even at low volumes. Together with the two footswitchable channels and the two voice switches, the amplifier has two clean and two overdrive sounds. A USB-C connection enables connection to a computer and thus the possibility of recording.
