Herb Brochstein probably never even hat the slightest thought of what would once become of his small drum stick venture when he started in 1957. Now it is one of the largest manufacturers of sticks, mallets and percussion accessories. He named the company Pro Mark. Today products made by Pro Mark in Housten/Texas are exported to 85 countries worldwide. Many of the worlds top players use the products: Billy Amendola, Phil Collins, Karma Auger, Matthew Atkins, Jose Aponte, Carl Allen, Robert Acuna, Charlie Adams, Tony Adams, Chris Adler, Tommy Aldridge, Billy Amendola, Yoshio Arimatsu, Justin Dagon Arman, Nate Barrett, B.J. Barker, Huie Ming Chen, Joe Chirco, Scott Christensen, Phil Cimino, Mino Cinelu, Derek Cintron, Ray Cooper, Fred Coury i.e. He was officially awarded for his achievements and his astounding lifework in 1999. The popularity of Pro Mark and the loyalty of the fans have resulted in the company winning more prizes. The readers of the mag “Modern Drummer” voted Pro Mark to have the best customer service in the accessories category, best craftsmanship and also as the company with the best innovations. In the past years Pro Mark has won many prizes in different categories, the future plans look as if they will keep Pro Mark on the winner’s podest for a while.
