Gretsch Roots

Today US guitar maker Gretsch Guitars is particularly known for its electric guitars, but the company started out with other instruments. In its early days Gretsch was also very successful with bluegrass and folk instruments such as banjos and resonator guitars.

Under the motto “Back to the Roots” - back to the roots - Gretsch launched the Roots Collection, which celebrates and revives exactly those good old instruments. The range includes ukuleles, parlor-sized acoustic guitars and several resonator guitars. All instruments are styled in the manner of bygone years and already convey a certain vintage feel at first glance, which is emphasised by the thin, matte finish. For the resonator guitars the discerning bluegrass guitarist can enjoy round- and square-neck versions of each model; for the best possible tone a Gretsch Ampli-Sonic resonator cone is responsible. Pickups haven't been skimped on either: selected instruments are equipped with Fishman pickups.

Lovers of instruments in vintage design and those who want to become such will surely find something in the Roots Collection. All models are, as you'd expect from Gretsch, very well made and will give the player many years of enjoyment.
