Yamaha SB2J Silent Brass for euphonium

The current generation of the Silent Brass "J" from Yamaha offers more playing enjoyment anytime and anywhere.

The Silent Brass system consists of a lighter mute with almost natural blowing resistance and the Personal Studio STJ. Together these two components reproduce the natural sound of the instrument as if you were playing without a mute.

The improved Personal Studio STJ now features new reverb and selectable hall effects, Player/Audience mode, a USB connection option, enhanced Brass Resonance Modeling, and support for Yamaha's new Rac-n-Share APP. The new sound unit also makes it easy to connect to a computer or smartphone for online lessons.

The remarkably light and compact Silent Brass mute system reduces volume impressively. Intonation remains stable across all registers. The playing feel is excellent thanks to optimal airflow and an almost natural blowing resistance.

Specially designed mini microphone
To make full use of the optimised Brass Resonance Modeling technology, the microphone's performance, mounting position and the mute's shape have been optimised.
 

Features:

The adjustable rod allows the position of the mute cup inside the bell to be raised or lowered while playing. This gives you the possibility to tailor the playing feel and intonation to suit your own instrument. In addition, this lets the mute be used with a wide range of bell sizes.

The system consists of a smaller, lighter mute with almost natural blowing resistance and the Personal Studio (signal converter), which features Yamaha's exclusive Brass Resonance Modeling technology.
The innovative Brass Resonance Modeling technology takes playing with a mute to a whole new level, giving the player an authentic and natural playing feel. The sound is captured by the microphone in the mute and, via Brass Resonance Modeling, is transformed into the sound that would normally come from the bell without a mute, and delivered to the player through headphones as if you were playing unmuted.

Connect your Personal Studio to an audio player or smartphone and play along with your favourite music.
The AUX IN mini-jack on the Personal Studio lets you connect an audio player or smartphone so you can play with accompaniment. The PHONES jack can also be used as an output for recording.

Please do not connect anything to the AUX IN mini-jack when you are using the PHONES jack as an external output.
