Product information "Wampler CRYPTID Fuzz"
The Cryptid Fuzz is more than just a homage to Brian Wampler's favourite vintage fuzz pedals combined into a single pedal. Brian has always loved a good fuzz pedal. There's just something about how they alter a guitar's sound, and each does it in its own way. A Fuzz Face delivers a fat lead tone that responds to every touch. The Tone Bender circuit goes one step further (literally) and adds even more bite. The "Big Muff" circuit is the legendary successor to those two designs. The Wampler Velvet Fuzz was one of Brian's early attempts to improve the fuzz circuit, but with a twist — it was designed to be easy to dial in for those who struggled with conventional fuzz pedals.
Brian wanted to pack all those classic sounds into one compact guitar pedal. He wanted the ability to get glassy cleans by rolling back the guitar's volume like on a Fuzz Face, while retaining the sparkling tonality and user-friendliness of the Velvet Fuzz. He wanted to create something that could be combined with other pedals or played on its own, something that wasn't just another clone. So he designed the Cryptid Fuzz. It's a unique circuit that delivers the best sonic qualities of these classic fuzz pedals while inspiring players to find a new sound.
Brian Wampler designed the Cryptid to honour the iconic tones of players like Hendrix, Mick Ronson, J. Mascis and Jack White. But it's not limited to imitating the past. This pedal encourages individuality and gives you the chance to create sounds that stand out.

Brian Wampler, CEO of Wampler Pedals, has created some of the best effects pedals in the world. From the humble beginnings of modding pedals to producing his original boutique pedals, it's been a long journey for Brian. He is a guitarist first and foremost and has always been a true gear nerd — he tried different guitars, amps and, of course, pedals — always with the aim of achieving the best possible sound. Every pedal on the market that Brian played simply didn't deliver the sounds he craved. So rather than settle for standard sounds, he began tweaking and modifying pedals here and there to get closer to the sounds he heard in his head.
Those pedals still didn't satisfy Brian, so he started designing his own. That is how Wampler Pedals was born, a brand that continues to win more and more fans.
With a wide range of products and ever more new releases, Brian Wampler continues to bring world-class guitar sounds to great guitarists. The process from developing a guitar pedal to its release is lengthy, but the results are worth it. Brian is now supported in the development of his pedals by a hands-on team.
