The Studiomonitore from the GENELEC series 8000 is now available with power saving function. The new models have an on/off switch. If the studio monitor receives a signal, it switches on automatically and after an hour without signal it goes back to standby mode, In stand-by mode a speaker consumes less than 0.5 watts.
New low-distortion loudspeaker chassis and a sophisticated filter technology smooth the frequency response and optimise the reliability. The Genelec 8030 is the first choice (Nearfield monitoring, project / home studios, workstations, installation, etc. ) when space is scarce and when high transmission quality is important.
The MDE ™ housing (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure) made of aluminum improves the frequency and performance with its rounded edges. The minimization of the sound diffraction at the housing edge ensures an excellent image.
The pioneering DCW ™ sound guidance system has been further optimised to ensure a precisely defined radiation response. The result is a wider, uniform listening zone with little unwanted early spatial reflections and associated sound colours.
The stream-optimised bass reflex tunnel allows for an extended transmission range at low frequencies, high sound pressure reserves and good bass audibility.

The rubber-coated Iso-Pod ™ stand allows the speaker to tilt towards the listening position. Its decoupling function prevents sound colouration by transmitting unwanted vibration to the stand.
