The Eastman AC622CE-KOA-LTD is a worldwide limited special edition of 300 pieces of the modern AC622CE, featuring a fully solid koa body and a flamed maple neck. Koa wood is particularly rare, so only salvaged deadwood may be harvested and used. Koa displays a beautiful figuring in striking cream, reddish-brown or even dark-brown tones. It is a dense tropical hardwood that combines a midrange focus with extra brilliance and tonal richness in the upper registers. The tonal profile of koa blends the midrange of mahogany with the highs of maple. Due to its density, a new koa guitar initially sounds somewhat bright, similar to maple. But the more a koa guitar is played, the more its sound opens up, the midrange expands and it rewards the player with a richer, sweeter and more resonant tone.

The guitar workshop Eastman Guitars has its origins in the company Eastman Strings. Eastman Strings was founded in 1992 by Qian Ni in Beijing and originally started with the handcrafted production of high-quality violins, violas, cellos and double basses. Because the traditional craftsmanship and the resulting instruments are still highly valued today, the workshop quickly expanded its range to include acoustic, semi-acoustic and fully solid guitars.
These instruments are created with the same craft skill and precise workmanship as the string instruments, which makes the semi-acoustic models a definite recommendation to try for all jazz and blues guitarists searching for a new instrument. The semi-acoustic guitars are available as Thinline, Archtop and even as a Signature Archtop model. Depending on preference you can then choose between All Solid Carved, Solid Carved Top and laminate models.
The high-quality solid-body guitars in LP style are similar. These are also divided into three levels. The choice is between guitars with Antique Varnish, Truetone Gloss and Truetone Vintage Gloss finishes, with the Antique Varnish finish being inspired by violin making and delivering a full, open and resonant tone.
