One special feature of these basses is the use of fanned-fret construction (fanned frets). The frets are set into the fretboard so that the scale length of the low strings is longer than that of the high strings. This gives the low strings more sustain and a tone that is more pitch-accurate.
In addition, Dingwall specialises in the production of 5- and even 6-string basses – an absolute must for fans of extended-range instruments.
Alongside absolute high-end basses like the Dingwall Afterburner or the Dingwall D-Roc Custom 5 String Gold, you'll also find many models from the affordable Combustion series with us. Here, North American woods and components are sent to China for assembly and further processing. Final setup and inspection are then carried out again at Dingwall's main headquarters in Saskatoon, Canada.
Because of the different scale lengths, special strings are required, which are also manufactured by Dingwall. Gute Verarbeitung halten super lange Ton und Stimmung
Alles wie immer gut, gerne wieder.
Bestelde op 20-04-2024 stainless steel snaren voor een 5 String basgitaar. De snaren waren niet in voorraad en de planning was om binnen 3 weken te leveren. Na 3 weken geen snaren ontvangen en nog niets gehoord. Na 4 weken een mail gestuurd waarop geen antwoord. Na een tweede mail met de vraag over de status ontving ik het bericht dat de snaren waren verstuurd. Heb uiteindelijk nikkel snaren voor een 6 string basgitaar ontvangen 🤷♀️. Geen behoefte meer gevoeld om hier op te reageren….Jammer hoor!

Die Saiten passen optimal zu meinem Combustion, meinen Fingern und meinen Ohren. Angenehmes Spielgefühl, klarer warmer Sound, haltbar. Von Soundtechnikern immer wieder gelobt.
klingen ausgewogen, halten lange eine guten Klang, vergleichsweise flexibel, alles in allem eine ausgezeichnete Basssaite!
I really like the sound of these strings, but they feel kind of rough on my fingers even though I've been playing bass since '93.
