Clavia is a Swedish manufacturer of electronic musical instruments based in Stockholm, founded in 1983 by Hans Nordelius. After initially producing drum machines and e-drum kits, Clavia has focused on keyboard instruments since the release of the Nord Lead in 1995, such as stage pianos and synthesizers. Clavia instruments are appreciated not only for their sound quality but also for their solid build and long product support.
The Nord Lead and the Nord Wave are virtual-analogue synthesizers, the latter being sample-based. The Nord Stage is a stage piano that, in addition to a synthesizer section, also offers first-class emulations of well-known pianos, organs and other keyboard instruments such as the Hammond B3, Vox Continental, Fender Rhodes or Wurlitzer.
The Nord Electro is a stripped-down version of the Nord Stage that omits the synthesizer section. With the Nord Piano 5, Clavia brings a new stage piano to the market aimed particularly at pianists thanks to its remarkably realistic keyboard. The Clavia Nord stage pianos are available with 73, 76 or 88 keys. Thanks to the Nord Sound Library, the sounds on all current Nord instruments can be exchanged freely and free of charge. Lieferung war schnell und die Tasche ist sehr gut verarbeitet
Die Qualität der Tasche ist – wie bei Nord üblich – sehr gut. Sie erfüllt ihre Aufgabe, ist robust und durch die nicht notwendige innere Aussteifung besser verstaubar, als das Softcase zum Nord Stage. Einzig zwei Details könnten verbessert werden. Zum einen ist die seitliche Tasche etwas unglücklich geraten, weil sie nur sehr wenig Stauraum bietet (was gerade bei der Rucksackfunktion ungünstig ist, da man benötigtes Zubehör, wie ein Tablet oder Noten nicht in einem Rucksack mitnehmen kann). Obendrein wirkt sie wie ein notdürftig hinzugefügtes Anhängsel, hat keine Form und bietet auch nur wenig Schutz (anders als es etwa die Tasche beim Case der Nord Stage Reihe tut). Ein zweiter Punkt ist das Gurtsystem der Tasche. Die Rucksackfunktion des Cases ist ungemein praktisch und war für mich der entscheidende Punkt zur Kaufentscheidung, doch sind die beiden Gurte sehr nah beieinander angebracht, obwohl genug Platz vorhanden ist, um einen größeren Abstand zu gewährleisten. Die Folge ist, dass die Gurte zumindest bei mir links und rechts am Hals drücken und somit diese an sich gute Handhabung unnötig beeinträchtigt wird. Die Griffe und die Möglichkeit des Tragens auf einer Schulter mit einem Gurt funktionieren aber gewohnt gut. Dass die Tasche trotz der selbstverständlich guten Qualität im Vergleich zu anderen Herstellern deutlich teurer ist, muss man wohl hinnehmen. Hier hat Clavia ein Branding erstellt, das sie sich gerade auch im Zubehör-Segment entsprechend entlohnen lassen.
