When it was launched in 2005, the Boss RT-20 Rotary Ensemble was a huge success – a rotary speaker pedal with intuitive controls and first-class, authentic sound. After a long period of silence, Boss has now unveiled a worthy successor: the RT-2 Rotary Ensemble in a compact pedalboard-friendly housing. The RT-2 has a lot to offer: 3 switchable preamp emulations from clean to full Jon Lord board, separately adjustable slow/fast, switchable rise/fall time, overdrive, adjustable slow/fast balance, stereo in/out, slow/fast/brake via footswitch, and a connection for an optional expression pedal for stepless control of the rotor speed. Also included is the cool display familiar from the RT-20 in a smaller form, which shows the rotor speed with colored LEDs.
