AlphaTheta DJM-V5

The new DJM-V5 from AlphaTheta is a compact next-generation 3-channel mixer that lets you create your own unique sound.

The new mixer is based on the design philosophy of the professional 6-channel DJM-V10. That mixer is a favourite among DJs and is used at festivals and clubs around the world, thanks in part to its outstanding sound quality and precise mix performance.

The DJM-V5 inherits the qualities of the DJM-V10 in a more compact 3-channel format. It's smaller, but offers enormous potential for uncompromisingly creative mixing—even in a small DJ booth.

With the DJM-V5 you get an expanded palette of effects, including enhanced filters and Send-FX, opening up diverse creative possibilities—no matter where you perform. The built-in SonicLink transmitter, featuring AlphaTheta's unique ultra-low-latency wireless technology, gives you even more freedom while playing. Once you've paired it with HDJ-F10 headphones, you can monitor music wirelessly with minimal latency, creating new options for seamless and flexible mixing environments.

Smooth mixing, compact design, pro-level control

With the 3-channel DJM-V5 you can mix intuitively and creatively, even in a small DJ booth. The mixer inherits the layout, feel and many functions of the DJM-V10—including a 4-band EQ, compressor, filter and Send-FX—but is 30% smaller. Despite its compact size the DJM-V5 delivers a professional feel and flexible sound-shaping options. The 60 mm long-throw channel faders from the DJM-V10-LF provide precise level control, and when you bring a fader down the new Soft-Mix-Curve fader mode automatically applies a subtle attenuation of high frequencies for smoother, more natural mixes. This lets you express yourself with very fine tonal nuance.

High-resolution sound – warm character

The DJM-V5 builds on the DJM-V10's high-resolution, warm sound and offers a balanced presentation that avoids sonic saturation—even when multiple audio sources overlap. It uses studio-quality DSP processing for 96 kHz/64-bit mixing and high-quality 32-bit A/D and D/A converters from ESS Technology on the channel inputs and master outputs. All audio components have been carefully selected and optimised for the mixer. Repeated listening tests in real environments—including clubs—were carried out to perfect the sound. The result is a refined audio character that maximises the contours of each sound, its spatial expression and even the silence between notes—creating an immersive experience where every element stands out clearly and the overall mix remains balanced and full of energy.

More spatial expression – with six different Send-FX

The six expressive effects give tracks more structure: Short Delay, Reverb, Shimmer, Tape Echo, PingPong and Echo-Verb. Each channel has its own send control so you can intuitively adjust the effect level for individual tracks. The Time control, which governs time parameters and decay for each effect, features a unique click mechanism that varies depending on the selected effect.

• Tape Echo, PingPong, Echo-Verb: tactile clicks can be synchronised to BPM—from 16th notes up to one bar—allowing extremely precise effect refinement.
• Short Delay, Reverb, Shimmer: straightforward, click-free settings allow smooth control over these effects.

Sound shaping with three different filters

Each channel has its own filter control with three selectable modes: Low-pass, High-pass and the newly added Crosspass (used for the first time in an AlphaTheta mixer). The sweep structure (works left to right) of the control enables both subtle and dynamic manipulation. With the Crosspass filter you retain the low frequencies while gently filtering the mids and highs—ideal for varying vocals or melodies without losing the track's energy. This opens up entirely new performance styles.

Integrated SonicLink transmitter for ultra-low-latency wireless monitoring

The DJM-V5 is the first mixer with a built-in SonicLink transmitter, which provides comfortable wireless monitoring with low latency when used with compatible headphones. The mixer can be paired quickly and easily with the HDJ-F10 at the touch of a button. For headphone models due to be released later this year, pairing will be even more intuitive: you will simply touch the designated headphone area on the front of the DJM-V5 to establish the connection.

Perfect performance support with PRO DJ LINK

If you connect the DJM-V5 via PRO DJ LINK to compatible DJ players—such as the CDJ-3000X or CDJ-3000—and rekordbox, you can apply effects precisely in time with BPM. With Link-Cue you can preview tracks while browsing—without loading them—or touch the full waveform of a playing track to hear what comes next. A new dedicated cue volume control lets you set monitoring level. Because you can load personal mixer settings from a USB device or from rekordbox, you can get the mixer set up the way you like in seconds.

Extensive connectivity for a wide range of setups

When you connect the mixer to a PC/Mac via the rear USB Type-C port, you can integrate your setup immediately with rekordbox for Mac/Windows or Serato DJ Pro*1 and use features such as DVS. The multi-device compatible MULTI I/O also includes a USB Type-C port on the top panel for connecting an iPhone or iPad*2, enabling use of DJM-REC or RMX-1000 for iPad. It is also possible to connect RMX-IGNITE with a single USB cable.

Insert effects and external effect units can also be integrated into the setup via USB send/return. Thanks to this connectivity the DJM-V5 is suitable not only for club performances but also for live streaming or recording, and its versatile setup options make it adaptable to almost any situation.
