16 mic/line inputs + 1 stereo line input, 16 outputs. Intuitive all-in-one digital mixing console in 19-inch rack format

TF Rack offers capacity for small to medium sized live sound applications, speech reinforcement, installations and much more. It combines an intuitive user interface, comprehensible signal flow, digital effects and signal processors as well as many shortcuts for great sound in a compact and portable rack housing.

Scene memory saves mix settings for instant access The scene memory consists of banks A and B, each of which can contain up to 100 mix scenes. This makes a total of 200 mix scenes that can be set up and recalled instantly when required. Many scenes have been pre-programmed to give users a good head start: there are scenes with ""1-Knob-COMP"" and ""1-Knob-EQ"" controls, which have been optimised for ease of use, and those for experienced sound people who want to go the traditional route, where the ""1-Knob"" functions are disabled. The two banks are ideal for sorting different types of scenes. It would be conceivable, for example, to use one bank for scenes that relate to music and the other for scenes that are required for certain events.

The ideal sound in no time at all: 1-Knob COMP™ & 1-Knob EQ™ An experienced sound engineer can achieve a lot with a compressor: bring a guitar to life, adjust a fat snare, embed vocals clearly and assertively in the mix. The 1-Knob COMP achieves all this quickly and easily, without having to adjust many parameters to achieve the desired effect. Originally introduced in Yamaha analogue mixing consoles, the 1-Knob COMP quickly became a popular and highly appreciated feature. It has now been further perfected for a digital version that provides easier adjustability and greater efficiency in the TF consoles.

The same concept has been applied to the new 1-knob EQ, which is noticeably faster and easier to use. The meticulous fine-tuning of the 1-Knob EQ has been carried out by the Yamaha development team in collaboration with experienced sound engineers to ensure that you can achieve outstanding results in the shortest possible time with minimum effort. The "Vocal Mode" makes it easier than ever to achieve a clear, defined vocal sound, while the "Intensity Mode" allows you to adjust the intensity of preset or customised EQ curves at the touch of a button.

But there's more: as 1-Knob COMP and 1-Knob EQ are also available for the output channels, you can find compressor or EQ settings that ideally suit the room and the size of the audience. In the output channels, the 1-Knob EQ has a Loudness Mode instead of the Vocal Mode, which allows you to increase the loudness with the simple turn of a knob while maintaining an optimal sound. Both 1-Knob COMP and 1-Knob EQ immediately call up the corresponding compressor or EQ pages in the display so that you can fine-tune the settings as required.

Professional sound: the QuickPro Presets™

After intensive collaboration with renowned sound engineers, microphone manufacturers such as Audio-Technica, Sennheiser and Shure, as well as extensive testing with numerous microphones, musical instruments, loudspeakers and in-ear monitor systems, Yamaha's development team focussed on creating typical starting points that are recommended for use at many different types of event. Equipped with these practical presets, even newcomers can get very close to the ideal sound, while more experienced colleagues can save time with the useful starting points. These "QuickPro presets" are sorted by instrument type and can be called up immediately at any time. Among other things, parameters for the "HA", "EQ" and "Comp" modules as well as other settings such as channel naming and channel colour have been saved with the presets. The "1-Knob" processors "EQ" and "COMP" have also been integrated into the QuickPro presets, making sound adjustment even quicker and easier. Parameter sets that have been optimised for Yamaha's active loudspeakers have been stored in the output channel library. There are several variations, each customised for different environments and room sizes. Presets have also been programmed for in-ear monitors. All of these settings can be used immediately if time is short. Otherwise, they offer excellent starting points for personal fine-tuning. All your own settings can of course be saved in the other memory locations.

A natural sound foundation and additional creative freedom A faithful reproduction of the stage sound forms the foundation, and then creativity comes into play. Yamaha's unwavering approach to live sound reinforcement is also realised uncompromisingly in the TF series. For example, the input stage of each console has a noticeable effect on its sound character. The TF consoles are therefore equipped with D-PRE™ microphone preamps, which not only deliver outstanding sound quality, but whose settings can also be saved and recalled. The circuits and individual assemblies have been further refined where there was still room for improvement in order to achieve an exceptionally pure, natural sound. This clean sound base can now be further processed with numerous state-of-the-art processors and effects. The EQs, compressors and gates in the inputs and outputs are complemented by eight additional sound processors that provide plenty of scope for creative sound design. Recall-capable D-PRE™ microphone preamps The TF Series consoles are equipped with new versions of Yamaha's popular D-PRE mic preamps. As the preamps have a significant impact on the final sound, Yamaha's engineers spared no effort in developing and refining the preamps to ensure that no nuance of the original signal is lost. The preamp is based on a discrete inverted Darlington pair circuit design that ensures clear, precise amplification with consistently low noise and distortion at all levels. While some microphone preamps produce a deliberate colouration of their own sound, the D-PRE preamps have been painstakingly fine-tuned to produce a very neutral sound with a wide frequency range, so that the artist's distinctiveness and every detail of their playing is 100% preserved.

Powerful processors and effects

In addition to the channel processors, TF consoles feature eight powerful effects processors. All units offer the same types of SPX processors that have long become standards for recording and live sound applications, with 19 programmes ranging from reverb and delay to modulation effects such as flanger and chorus and multiband compression.

The EDIT button on the control panel opens the parameter page of the first two effect processors, where detailed settings can be made directly. The remaining six insert effects are available in the AUX master channels 9/10 to 19/20 to provide additional control options such as volume control for in-ear systems or output delay for delay line speakers. If more than two global effect units are required, these insert effects can be used as additional send/return effects by routing them to the main stereo bus.

AUX paths 1 to 8 and the main output channels contain the same four-band parametric equalisers as the input channels and also provide 31-band Flex12 graphic EQs. Both EQ types are essential for optimising speaker reproduction and eliminating feedback. The graphic equalisers can be operated via the channel faders for even more precise control.

The revolutionary Dan Dugan Automatic Mixer is already built in Through close collaboration with Dan Dugan Sound Design, Dan Dugan's famous automatic microphone mixing with its advanced algorithms is built into the TF Series consoles from the factory. The function is available for channels 1 to 8 and the setup can be easily accessed via the channel strips so that the microphone levels are automatically optimised. The gain control works as smoothly and naturally as if experienced human engineers were doing the mix. The system also effectively reduces feedback and comb filter effects. For voice applications, especially in free speech situations, it allows the engineer to concentrate on details other than constantly readjusting the faders.

The compact TF-RACK is perfect for applications such as conferences and corporate events that require space-saving sound reinforcement systems. Because the TF-RACK can be rack-mounted, it forms a simple and unobtrusive sound reinforcement system.

The eight Dugan channels of the TF-RACK provide a convenient and elegant solution for speech applications. When the Dugan Automixer is used, it automatically raises the gain of the currently active microphone while simultaneously lowering the levels of the other microphones. This results in a consistent overall volume. This eliminates the need for complex fader movements during presentations or panel discussions. The advanced Dugan Automix algorithms also ensure a high level of feedback reliability and ensure a sound of high clarity and quality at all times.

Applications that integrate seamlessly with the TF system Separate software applications that allow wireless mixing, personal monitor mixing or offline configuration of digital mixing consoles are now widely available.

The TF series goes one step further and offers three specialised apps: TF Editor, TF Stage Mix and TF Monitor Mix. These apps provide user interfaces that seamlessly extend the mixing console to any compatible mobile device.

"TF Editor" enables offline editing and real-time control The TF Editor software for Windows and Mac computers provides a complete user interface for editing and setting up the TF consoles, with added value through the ability to manage scenes and presets and the ability to conveniently enter channel names using the computer keyboard.

In addition to the ability to set up the console offline at any convenient time and place, the TF Editor can also be used online simultaneously with the mixing console. The same gestures can be used on a Windows 8 PC with a multi-touch screen as on the console itself. And when using WLAN, the PC can be used as a convenient remote control. Up to three devices running TF Editor or StageMix can be connected to the console at the same time.

TF StageMix™ for mixing via WLAN

TF StageMix is an iPad app that turns the tablet into a wireless controller for the TF series. This allows you to mix remotely from the auditorium, standing in front of the stage monitors or from any other monitoring position. The software can also be used to expand the console's user interface. The operation of ""StageMix"" is just as smooth as that of the console, so that nothing stands in the way of fine-tuning the mix from any location.

Customised monitor mixes via MonitorMix

The Monitor Mix software for the TF Series allows independent AUX monitor mixes from up to ten Apple devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) simultaneously. Each live artist has complete control over their assigned aux paths without having to deal with complex settings or parameters. Manual group settings simplify operation even further. For example, all levels of a monitor mix can be assigned to just one fader. Up to three devices with ""TF Editor"" or StageMix and up to 10 devices with MonitorMix can be connected simultaneously. This allows the artist to have full control over the monitor mix, even for large bands, which greatly reduces the workload of the mixing engineer.

No special programming knowledge is required. An intuitive user interface enables the setup of volume faders and channel activation switches, for example, as well as the arrangement of photos or other graphic elements on the tablet screen. In this way, users can create their own customised control panels that are perfectly tailored to the respective application. ProVisionaire Touch and ProVisionaire Control can also be used to control MTX and MRX Series processors, XMV Series power amplifiers and R Series converters - all of whose parameters can be easily summarised on one screen.

Intuitive user interface, optimised for touch panel operation When developing the TF Series, Yamaha's engineers started with the already highly optimised user interfaces of existing professional consoles and focused in particular on touch panel operation, which has already proven itself in countless applications. As most operations can be carried out exclusively with the touch panel, the user interface will quickly become second nature to most users. It doesn't matter whether you have experience with Yamaha's digital consoles, have worked on other digital or analogue consoles, or are a novice: The TF consoles will guide you quickly and effortlessly to the desired result thanks to a smooth and efficient workflow. And because the screen is also surrounded by physical, i. e. ""real"" controls, operation is even more precise and simple. Touch operation for familiar console control The TF user interface has been perfectly optimised for precise touch panel operation, delivering a workflow so smooth that every mix in every conceivable environment can only benefit. The on-screen content has been designed for direct, targeted access and the layout of the elements supports a natural mix. With the touch panel, it feels like you're simply modulating your favourite sound with your fingertips.

Operation in the blink of an eye thanks to "Touch & Turn" controls If you want to fine-tune an EQ parameter, for example, you can use the physical "Touch & Turn" control, which is always immediately accessible next to the touch panel. There are also four "User Defined" controls (user-definable) that can be assigned to other parameters that you need to access very quickly, such as the compressor threshold or the EQ gain. The controls always affect the currently selected channel.

Versatile connection options for a wide range of applications The compact housing of the TF-RACK is equipped with 16 mic/line and one stereo line input as well as 16 outputs and also has a slot for installing the optional NY64-D expansion card. Like the other mixing consoles in the TF series, TF RACK can be expanded via the NY64-D card with up to three Tio1608-D I/O racks for additional inputs and outputs, which can be configured via the QUICK CONFIG mode.

16 mic/line inputs + one stereo input and 16 outputs in a compact housing TF Rack is equipped with 16 mic/line inputs, 16 line outputs (8 XLR and 8 jack) and a USB connection for PC multi-channel recording/playback. This means that TF Rack can be used for many applications.

Plug In & Play Dante stagebox solution

Tio 1608 is a Dante-based I/O rack with 16 microphone/line inputs and 8 line outputs. Tio racks feature the same storable D-PRE mic preamps as the TF series and deliver an exceptionally natural and musical sound. In combination with the TF Series consoles, up to three Tio Racks can be used and set up quickly and easily. *An optional NY64-D card is required.

In combination with the Tio1608-D I/O and the NY64-D, TF-RACK can be used to create a compact and versatile stagebox system with up to 64 inputs and 40 outputs that can be mounted together in a compact rack.
