The good old NS-2 noise suppressor pedal has a large fan base, but is technically a little outdated. With the current NS-1X Noise Suppressor, Boss catapults the topic of noise reduction into the 21st century. The pedal offers 3 modes: Gate - classic noise gate, super-fast response - ideal for fast staccato riffs, Noise Reduction - effective noise and hum suppression, fast response, no change in sound and dynamics and natural decay behaviour - the sustain phase of the instrument is not brutally cut off, but naturally faded out and Mute - the output signal is muted in bypass mode. An LED chain indicates the status of the noise reduction.
