Yamaha RS02CB Honey Gold
Yamaha RS02CB Honey Gold
A real gem: Chris Buck Signature
The Yamaha RS02CB Chris Buck Signature is aimed at guitarists who value expression, dynamics and character. Developed in close collaboration with Chris Buck (Cardinal Black, Buck & Evans), this Revstar signature combines modern design with a classic soul, blues and rock vibe.
Body
The heart of the RS02CB is a chambered mahogany body with a maple top, delivering a warm, resonant fundamental tone with excellent balance and clarity. The set-in neck construction combined with the classic 24 3/4" scale length provides a familiar, comfortably smooth playing feel.
Neck
The three-piece mahogany neck with carbon reinforcement offers high stability and reliability, while the rosewood fretboard, the 12" radius and the jumbo stainless steel frets guarantee effortless bending, precise intonation and long-lasting performance. The satin neck finish feels fast and natural – ideal for dynamic playing.
Sound
Tonally, the RS02CB is equipped with specially voiced VP5 P-90 style pickups with Alnico-III magnets. They deliver a punchy midrange, open highs and exceptional responsiveness to every nuance of the attack – perfect for bluesy lines, soulful rhythm parts and expressive leads. The pared-back electronics with Master Volume, Master Tone and a 3-way switch keep the focus squarely on playing and sound.
Hardware & Finish
The TonePros AVT2 wraparound bridge provides excellent sustain and high tuning stability. High-quality hardware and factory-fitted Elixir Nanoweb strings (10–46) make the guitar ready to play straight out of the box – whether in the studio or on stage.
The instrument is completed by the refined Honey-Gold-Finish in a high-gloss look: a modern classic with a vintage soul – for guitarists seeking maximum expressiveness.
Experience the Yamaha Revstar RS02CB live in action
For the launch of the new Revstar series, Cardinal Black met singer Tom Hollister, drummer Adam Roberts, bassist Sam Williams and guitarist Chris Buck at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales.
Guitarists worldwide know Chris Buck both for his virtuosic playing and for his popular "Friday Fretworks" videos on YouTube. This makes him the ideal ambassador for the new Revstar series. Chris has played Yamaha Revstar guitars for several years and was closely involved with the guitar builders at Yamaha Guitar Development in California in developing his own custom model.

In the Revstar series two major branches of the Yamaha family tree come together. On one side the guitar division, which has been making great instruments for many years, and on the other the motorcycle division, which for countless years has been making both roads and racetracks its playground.
The motorcycle division supplies the design inspiration for the Revstar series. The guitars are intended to recall the minimalist but technically advanced café racers of the 1960s.
The heritage from the guitar division is a little larger. The guitars feature a chambered body developed using a special Acoustic Design process by Yamaha. The guitars also received a Dry-Switch high-pass filter; Revstar Standard as well as Professional models additionally get a Focus-Switch.
The Revstar series itself is divided into three models. The entry-level Revstar Element guitars feature a mahogany body, a 3-piece mahogany neck, two Alnico V humbuckers and a 3-way pickup switch. The next step are the Revstar Standard guitars. These have a mahogany body with a maple top, a carbon-reinforced neck and body, either two Alnico V humbuckers or two P90 single coils, a 5-way pickup switch and the aforementioned Focus-Switch. The top of the Revstar range are the Professional guitars. These share the same specifications as the Standard guitars but are hand-built in Yamaha's Custom Shop in Japan and therefore carry a higher level of quality. All Revstar guitars receive a café-racer-inspired finish and are real eye-catchers.

For example, youll find steel-string acoustic guitars, electric guitars, electric basses, the popular PSR keyboards, acoustic drumkits and e-drum sets, flutes and saxophones for beginners and intermediates, as well as the popular Clavinova CLP-700 digital pianos and entertainer keyboards like the Genos or the synthesiser Yamaha MX49, plus PA equipment and studio monitors for professional needs. In any case, you can always rely on Yamaha for excellent value for money.
