For the Vandoren Alt Sax reeds V-12 strength 2.5, cane is specially selected according to its proportions. Unlike traditional reeds, they have a thicker shaft, a modified cut and a stronger back. This gives the reeds a larger vibrational range, resulting in a sonorous, full tone. Due to their thicker tip they offer a percussive attack and a longer lifespan.

About Vandoren
Since 1905 the Paris-based company Vandoren has been selling high-quality reeds for clarinet and saxophone, as well as mouthpieces and accessories. Eugène van Doren, the founder, was a clarinettist himself and knew exactly what mattered in reed production. He soon manufactured not only for himself and his colleagues but for clarinet and saxophone players around the world, producing reeds in industrial quantities with machines he developed himself. His son and grandson continued the business and made it the trusted brand that wind players still rely on today when searching for the perfect sound.
