For the Vandoren V-12 Alto Sax Reeds, strength 2.5, cane specially selected for its proportions is used. Unlike traditional reeds, they have a thicker heart (shaft), a modified tip/cut and a stiffer back. This gives the reeds a larger vibrating area, resulting in a sonorous, full tone. Due to their thicker tip they have a more percussive attack and a longer lifespan.

About Vandoren
