1993 the V16 reed was introduced at the request of some American jazz musicians. A JAVA reed with even more wood. It has a stronger tip and a longer tongue than the traditional Vandoren reeds. The sound of a V16 is brilliant, more percussive and well adapted to all the new styles of music.
