The Yamaha YRS-402 soprano recorder is made from a new, environmentally friendly material. The body of this instrument is made of UNITIKA "TERRAMAC®" plastic, which is obtained from a biomass material.
This bio-plastic gives the recorder a soft, centred tone similar to that of wooden recorders. In combination with the curved windway, the response and tone control over high registers has also been improved.
