The Legacy 714ce is a tribute to the innovative spirit that drove Bob Taylor's guitar designs in the early years. It is based on the Grand Auditorium body shape that Bob Taylor introduced to the world in 1994. This model features a tonewood combination not found in Taylor's standard line: Indian rosewood back and sides with a Western Red Cedar top (soundboard), using the same X-bracing used on the first Grand Auditorium guitars. The result is an exceptionally warm, soft response with remarkable sensitivity to attack, without losing clarity in the high end. Visually, this model reflects the understated aesthetic Bob preferred for his guitars three decades ago. Appointments include black binding with black-and-white pinstripe purfling, fretboard inlays of green abalone with a matching three-ring rosette, ebony bridge pins with green abalone dots, a tortoiseshell-style pickguard, gold tuners, and a gloss body paired with a satin neck. The Legacy 714ce is fitted with LR Baggs Element VTC electronics and comes with a deluxe hardshell case.
