Taylor's Academy Series makes the playing experience more accessible in every way, combining signature Taylor playing features in an affordable package. With the Academy 12e, our compact Grand Concert body is the perfect companion for fingerpicking or for those with a lighter touch who crave the physical comfort of a small-body guitar. The guitar's design specifications are optimized for easy playing. Taylor's patented slim neck features a number of hand-friendly details: a shorter 24-7 / 8-inch scale length, 1-11 / 16-inch nut width, low action and lightweight strings that result in very comfortable playability. The lightweight guitar body with layered Sapele back and sides with a solid Sitka spruce top features an ergonomic armrest that increases playing comfort for the picking arm. The guitar has also been rated as extra responsive to make the playing experience as relaxed as possible. The guitar comes with an integrated ES-B pickup, which includes a built-in digital chromatic tuner, and a durable, lightweight gig bag.
