The Strymon El Capistan has set the standard – its top-quality tape delay and spring reverb sounds and intuitive handling have made the El Capistan one of the most popular tape delay simulators. Now the American manufacturer is taking it to the next level - the current V2 version has been significantly expanded: all parameters can now be controlled via MIDI, 300 user presets are addressable via MIDI, a free editor/library software will be available for download from August 2022, a powerful ARM processor and analog premium JFET input stage for a round, natural sound. Multihead tape echo sounds, which can be enriched with modulations if required, are the El Capistan's specialty. The V2 version offers direct access to the spring reverb.
