Yes, it was our idea to bring together two of today's most interesting bass companies. We had a modern bass concept in mind with an extraordinary sound concept. After many, many prototypes with different woods, bodies, pickups and their position, after several trips and meetings, we are more than proud to present our result.
The Darkhawk is - as the name suggests - based on a Sandberg Nighthawk, but is equipped with special pickup positioning, black label pickups and the darkglass preamp. Together with the choice of wood, a steam hammer of tone was created that leaves no further questions unanswered. The prototypes have already been taken as a new reference tone both at Darkglass headquarters in Helsinki and at Sandberg Guitars Braunschweig, there couldn't be a better accolade for us!

The bass forge Sandberg was founded in 1987 by Holger Stonjek with a business partner in Braunschweig. The company quickly made a name for itself in the bass community, because with Sandberg looks, tone, quality and not least the price all add up. You'll find something whether you love classic designs—California models—or modern looks & feels—e.g. the Basic, Panther, Custom and Bullet models. Under the Electra name Sandberg now also offers models that are not produced in Germany but still have to meet the same high quality standards as the regular basses.
Since 2010 the range has also included electric guitars with models like the Florence and the California ST and DC, which, like the basses, have the potential to become modern classics.
On Sandberg's website you'll also find a configurator where you can put together your dream instrument with your favourite features. Bin wirklich schwer beeindruckt vom VM2. Der Klang ist ein Traum und es lässt sich alleine am Bass schon alles perfekt einstellen sodass ich den Verstärker nur einschalten brauche und keine weiteren Einstellungen von Nöten sind! Die zwei Humbucker haben außerdem richtig Power und die Optik ist ein Traum! Bei dem Preis eine absolute Kaufempfehlung.
Real impressive , the Darkglass preamp on board justifies its price. Love the pliability of this axe, the tone variations one can achieve is impressive. On the low note for me: the standard strings setup (a bit too low) and the lack of that brushed aluminum pickguard (as on first issuing of this Darkhawk model).
