The ZEN-Core engine, used in our top synthesizer models, forms the foundation.
Smooth workflow
On the clear RD control surface you can quickly access sound categories, save setups as scenes and instantly return to your default piano sound at the touch of a button. The multifunction knobs give you immediate control over volume levels and many other parameters. A large selection of effects is also available to shape sounds in many ways – from subtle studio colouring to extreme processing.
Creative zones
The RD-88 EX offers three zones for splits and creative combinations of internal or external sounds – or both at once. With the built-in USB audio/MIDI interface and a special control mode for Apple MainStage you can easily use virtual instruments and studio tracks in your live performances.

Roland was founded as a manufacturer of various musical instruments and studio equipment on 18 April 1972 in Osaka, Japan. Among the earliest products to reach the market were the first rhythm machines of the TR series, whose successors TR-808, TB-303 and TR-909 had a decisive influence on the techno, electro and hip-hop scenes. In the mid-1970s the JC-120 Jazz Chorus guitar amplifier was developed, whose ultra-clear sound together with the built-in chorus effect won over both Andy Summers of The Police and Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield of Metallica. Since then and to this day Roland have continuously expanded their catalogue across a wide range of fields such as digital pianos, grooveboxes, e-drums and synthesizers with high-quality and interesting products.
